Course Introduction
This course is designed to prepare students to excel in the Music component of Cultural and Creative Arts (CCA) for the Junior WAEC, while also equipping them with a solid foundation in music that extends beyond the classroom.
At the time of creating this course, there was no dedicated government scheme for Music; it was only included as part of CCA. To address this, I extracted all music-related topics from the CCA curriculum to create a structured scheme for Music. In addition, I introduced new topics and practical sessions to make learning engaging, interactive, and enjoyable.
In this course:
-
Practical learning is central. Every student is required to learn the recorder as a foundation.
-
Depending on the resources available in each school, students will also have the opportunity to learn instruments such as the keyboard, drums, violin, and guitar.
-
The course is structured to cover all key topics every term, with access to assignments, continuous assessments, and examinations.
My goal is to make Music not only a subject to pass but also an exciting and enriching experience. Students will gain both academic knowledge and practical skills that will remain valuable long after the classroom.
I promise—it will be fun!
